A year later, we stepped into the headquarters of Beihai Refining again to revisit the effectiveness of the project.
Project Challenges:
The refinery is located by the sea, facing challenges such as strong sea breezes, salty and humid moisture, and frequent vibrations from heavy trucks passing by, the stability and alarm accuracy of the perimeter alarm products are greatly tested.
Before upgrading to the Gato F7 series vibrating optical fiber, the Beihai Refining headquarters had been using a vibrating optical fiber system for more than ten years. It has been troubled by poor detection accuracy, serious missed and false alarms, and there is no real-time video linkage. In addition, some newly built areas are not covered by the perimeter alarm system.
Professional Choice
Why still use vibrating optical fiber?
To solve these problems, the project’s general contractor, Guangxi Xinyuan Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., carried out rigorous planning and design.
The project perimeter is as long as 6 kilometers. Traditional electronic fence products, positioning type vibrating optical fiber has a lower comprehensive cost, and the front end is passive, which is more suitable for flammable and explosive places. In terms of installation convenience and precise positioning, vibrating optical fiber has more advantages.
Therefore, the general contractor still designed a vibrating optical fiber perimeter alarm system plan. After widely comparing and trying vibrating optical fiber products from various brands, the Gato F7 Series Positioning Fiber Optic Intrusion Detection System was finally selected.
F7 Series Positioning Fiber Optic Intrusion Detection System is one of Gato’s star products. It uses dedicated industrial-grade chips and a customized version of the Linux system. The alarm server and host equipment are combined into one, achieving a truly embedded structure, which significantly enhances the security, stability, and convenience of the vibrating optical fiber system.
Due to the high cost and difficulty of research and development, there were only traditional split-type vibrating optical fibers on the market before, which required the installation of collection cards on commercial servers and then matched with separate host equipment. The cost is higher and the computing speed is lower.
Trust After Hesitation
Both emotion and strength are indispensable
Have been using Gato products for 8 years
Since 2015, Guangxi Xinyuan Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. has successfully used Gato tensile and pulse electronic fences to build a safe and stable perimeter alarm system for the refinery. The system still runs well in the harsh seaside environment, and the effect is stable.
Therefore, despite having doubts about the vibrating optical fiber, the customer decided to try it first before making a decision.
Field Test Verification Effect
After field testing, the Gato F7 series vibrating optical fiber performed excellently, becoming the decisive factor in the purchase.
Lives Up to Expectations and Continues to Strive
Stable operation, striving for excellence
After standardized and rigorous construction, the project was successfully completed, and all functions were realized. The precision and stability of the F7 vibrating optical fiber system made the owner very satisfied.
Despite large vehicles entering and leaving the factory area every day and the obvious influence of the strong sea breeze environment, the system basically has no false or missed alarms. Occasionally, false alarms can be remotely verified and eliminated by staff through video linkage.
This is due to Gato’s independently developed full-spectrum analysis technology. The technology parses the collected signals into high, medium, and low frequencies, collects the characteristics of vibration signals of different frequency spectra, and compares them with a large amount of data models, which is more effective in distinguishing between intrusion signals and interference signals, and effectively filters out interference from common factors such as vehicles and small animals.
In order to continuously improve the product usage effect, when going to Beihai Refining this time, Gato’s R&D team also collected real data of on-site sea breeze, vehicles, and other interference factors, and brought them back to the headquarters to improve the vibrating optical fiber database.
By continuously updating and improving the database, Gato continues to enhance the anti-interference ability of the vibrating optical fiber system, providing more reliable support for customers’ safety and prevention work.
Gato has always believed that technological innovation and quality assurance are the foundation of technology companies. In the future development, Gato will continue to develop and promote more advanced perimeter alarm products and technologies, providing customers with higher quality, more efficient, and safer solutions.
