Our Pulse Electric Fence System Solution
Our pulse electric fence solution enhances passive perimeter security with high-voltage, low-current pulse deterrence and real-time alarm monitoring, making it suitable for factories, substations, warehouses, and high-security sites.
- Active Deterrence: 5,000-10,000V low-current pulses create a visible electronic barrier.
- Real-time Alarm: Touching, cutting, short circuit, open circuit, grounding, and bypass attempts trigger alarms.
- Anti-bypass Detection: Single-wire contact can trigger both shock deterrence and alarm response.
- Local Configuration: Address, single/dual zone, anti-tamper, and battery low-voltage alarms can be set on the device.
- System Integration: RS485/network communication and alarm outputs support video linkage, alarm host linkage, and third-party device integration.
Core Strengths

Barrier + Deterrence + Alarm
Combines physical blocking, active deterrence, and alarm response in one perimeter system.

Anti-bypass Protection
Wire-contact detection helps eliminate blind spots caused by bypassing or single-wire contact.

Easy On-device Setup
Local display and configuration simplify daily operation without complex external tools.

Proven Standard Leadership
Gato served as a primary drafting organization for the pulsed electric fence national standard in 2008.
How It Works
The pulse energizer generates high-voltage, low-current electrical pulses that form a complete circuit through the front-end fence. Each wire carries high-voltage pulses, which are then transmitted back to the receiving port of the energizer. If someone touches the fence, they will receive a pulse electric shock. Any attempt to forcibly breach or cut the alloy wires will cause a short circuit or an open circuit, thereby triggering the alarm.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a pulse electric fence? What is the main difference between it and a traditional electric fence?
A pulse electric fence is an intelligent perimeter defense system that integrates obstacle, deterrence, and alarm functions. It consists of a pulse host and front-end wires. Unlike traditional electric fences that are continuously energized, it emits high-voltage pulse shocks to form a circuit on the fence, enabling real-time monitoring of the fence’s working status.
How are the electric shock energy and safety indicators of this system designed?
The system’s output pulse amplitude is 5000V ~ 10000V under high-voltage mode, but the pulse duration does not exceed 0.1s. The maximum electric shock energy of each pulse is controlled within 2.5mC, and the maximum energy is less than or equal to 5.0J. It strictly adheres to relevant safety standards to ensure human safety.
How does the system identify and handle intrusion or destruction of the front-end fence?
The host is equipped with circuit short-circuit and open-circuit alarm functions. When any two wires of the alloy wire are short-circuited or any single alloy wire is cut, the host will identify the abnormal circuit return within 2 seconds, trigger a sound-light alarm, and simultaneously transmit the alarm signal to the control center.
What are the complete components of the pulse electric fence system?
Gato’s exclusive Bi-Polar® technology can apply a 5000V high-voltage pulse shock to every wire on the front-end fence. Every point has a 5000V high-voltage pulse shock. This technology eliminates blind spots in the detection area, making it impossible for intruders to enter the perimeter by crossing or climbing non-electrified cables.
What technical implementations does the system support for alarm linkage?
The system mainly consists of a pulse host, front-end brackets (terminal posts, tension poles, tension rods, through rods), insulating components (pole rod insulators), alloy conductors, and rear-end control equipment (network alarm host, main control keyboard, management platform software), etc.
What are the installation specifications for the front-end of the electric fence in different environments?
The system supports multi-level linkage: alarm linkage can output real-time video and positioning when an alarm is triggered; light linkage can automatically turn on lighting compensation for the corresponding area; video linkage can achieve a one-to-one correspondence between the alarm area and the video channel through software linkage (API integration) or hard linkage (switch output).
What are the technical advantages of the network architecture design compared to the traditional RS485 bus?
The system supports wall-mounted installation (installed on the upper part of the wall, with the distance between the lowest wire and the wall top being 120mm ± 10mm) and ground-mounted installation (height not less than 1.8m, and a protective net or wall must be installed on one side of the fence, not less than 1.2m, with a spacing of not less than 1m).
How does the system ensure continuous operation in the event of a power outage or reboot?
The network architecture utilizes existing network transmission signals, eliminating the need for additional communication lines or fiber optic cabling. This solution can reduce wiring costs by approximately 40%, reduce construction costs by approximately 30%, and merge the communication networks of the pulse host and network cameras, simplifying system design.
How does the system achieve efficient centralized management and permission grading?
The pulse host and alarm host both support external connection of a DC 12V battery as a backup power source, allowing for continuous operation during a power outage. In addition, the host is equipped with non-volatile memory, which can automatically save the original working status and parameter settings, and does not require reconfiguration after power is restored.
